Travel Awards

In total, four (4) travel grants will be offered to students (2) and early-career professionals (2) to assist with travel expenses to the 4th International CWD Symposium taking place in Denver, Colorado, USA from May 31 – June 2, 2023. 

The definition of a student for the purposes of these awards is: someone who is currently enrolled in a degree-granting program at a postsecondary institution. For example, undergraduate (e.g., BSc.), graduate (e.g., MSc, PhD), professional (e.g., DVM) or equivalent.


The definition of an early-career professional for the purposes of these awards is a person who has been in their careers for less than 5 years. This category can include professionals from a variety of groups, including but not limited to: academia, government, non-profit, etc. It is up to the applicant to check with their institutions regarding the approval for acceptance of a travel award.

While submission of a Symposium abstract for presentation or poster is not required, it will be taken into consideration in the selection process.  

The awards are due to Thomas Deliberto (thomas.j.deliberto@usda.gov) and Samantha Allen (samantha.allen@wyo.gov) by March 15th 2023, midnight (MST).
